Information for Attendees

Before You Leave Home

  • Bring your own water bottle / cup / coffee mug!

  • If you’re staying in residence on Friday night, we hang out in the Common Room after dinner! Bring some snacks and drinks, or just yourself!

Directions to Campus

The Brock University campus is south of St. Catharines.  To bypass the city, from the QEW take the exit for Hwy 406-South for 11 km, to exit 11A for Sir Isaac Brock Way, to Isaac Brock Blvd North.  You will arrive at the Glenridge Ave Entrance to campus.  See Map below.

Note that there may be traffic due to construction. Please factor this into your travel time.

Parking

  • Daytime attendees park at Lot 3 and make your way to South Block.

  • Overnight attendees park at Lot 4A or 4B, and enter Res8 from the parking lot.

If you have not provided your license plate numbers, do so at Registration.

Staying in Residence?

After you check in at Res8, you can access your room. Each room has a single bed, desk, dresser, and wardrobe.  One 3-piece washroom is accessible from each of two adjoining single guest rooms. Bed linen, towels, soap and face cloth are provided for all guests. It is recommended that guests bring their own shampoo.

Check-in is at 3:00 pm. Check-out is at 11:00 am, so it is best to check out before making your way to the conference on the day you are departing. The service desk is open 24/7 in case you need anything.

Res8 is about 5 minutes away from South Block, where the conference is held on Friday and Saturday. See Map below for the best route.

Thursday - go to Res8

If you arrive on Thursday, visit the OAPT Conference registration desk in the Res8 dining hall (main floor). This is also where dinner will be served from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.

For those going to Niagara, the bus will leave at 7:00 pm and return at 10:30 pm. The pick-up location is in front of the South Block building, which is the same building where the conference will be held. The bus ride to Niagara is free. You don’t need to have a ticket for the Power Plant to take the bus to Niagara. Be aware that we start pretty early the next morning, 8:30am!

Friday and Saturday - go to South Block

Breakfast is provided in South Block Hallway outside session rooms, while quantities last. Friday breakfast is from 7:15 to 8:15 am. Conference Welcome begins at 8:30 am in STH 204. Saturday breakfast is from 8:00 to 8:45 am. Session E begins at 9:00 am.
